Broadside issued by Parliament during the English Civil War permitting the London militia to raise and train horses on Parliament's behalf. Dated 4 June 1650, it reads in part: ''...the said horse being Lifted, Trained and Exercised, to bee employed by the said Committee, or by such whom they shall appoint, to suppresse all Tumultuous Rebellions...'' Measures 8.5'' x 12.5''. Mounted to paper to an overall size of 11.25'' x 18.25'' with irregularly trimmed edges cutting off seal at top. Toning and shadow of print transferred from folding, else very good.
