Archive of four 19th Century pieces regarding the English Civil War: (1) an engraved portrait of King Charles I by R. Sheppard; (2) a facsimile of the Charles I execution warrant, with the images of the seals and signatures of all 59 Commissioners who endorsed the infamous regicide. The text spells out the details of the plan for Charles' public beheading at the Palace of Whitehall on 30 January 1649; (3) an engraved portrait of the King's nemesis Oliver Cromwell, also by R. Sheppard, and (4) a richly hand-colored illustrated plate of the affects the King left behind at Wistow Hall in Leicestershire; saddles, stirrups, swords and a pistol. This item bears print to the bottom edge: ''...[the items pictured] are still preserved in the mansion now the seat of Sir Henry Halford Bar't...''
