Charlotte Knollys autograph letter signed as secretary to the queen mother Alexandra of Denmark on royal stationery. Dated 19 September 1921, it's printed with Alexandra's royal cipher and the name ''Sandringham'', the title of the Royal Family's estate in Norfolk, England. Knollys was appointed Lady of the Bedchamber and the first female private secretary to Alexandra. She writes: ''Dear Madame...I have great pleasure in obeying Queen Alexandra's commands to forward the two Photographs and this Brooch from Her Majesty together with a letter in her own hand. Wishing you all happiness on your return to your own dear Country where I have spent so many happy days...Charlotte Knollys''. 2pp. letter on a single sheet measures 5'' x 7.5''. Light foxing and an irregular left edge, very good.
