James Monroe document signed as President. Monroe was the fifth President and the last to have been a founding father. Dated 14 July 1824, document grants 50 acres of land near the Ohio River to one William Fulton as an heir of Benjamin Harrison (not the President). Harrison served in the Virginia Line of the Continental Army. A seal is affixed to the lower left and George Graham countersigns as Commissioner of the General Land Office. Single-page document is partially-printed on vellum. Ink notations and a notation signed by Graham appear on verso. Measures 12'' x 13.75''. Creasing and discoloration to fold lines of verso with a small stain to the top edge and chip to right edge, else near fine, especially given age.
