Interesting archive of ephemera from the presidency of Lyndon B. Johnson. A total of 21 pieces -- most from various events in 1964 -- comprise the lot, including a William de Kooning signed program. The artist, whose works are now worth multimillions, signs ''de Kooning'' as an honoree to the verso of the 8pp. Presidential Medals of Freedom Presentation program. 4'' x 6'' program is near fine. Also included is Johnson's personal ''LBJ Ranch'' logo stationery, namely a pair of blank 7.25'' x 10.5'' sheets and a blank envelope. Near fine. Assorted programs, invitations, and RSVP cards and envelopes to events in Washington DC comprise other pieces in the collection. Creasing or light staining to some; all are in very good to fine condition. Finally, six 8'' x 10'' glossy photographs of Johnson as President include candid close-up shots that make LBJ's famous ''Johnson Treatment'' easy to imagine. Near fine. The provenance is from the estate of Chester Clifton Jr., a former Major General in the U.S. Army and military aide to Kennedy and Johnson who was present in the motorcade when Kennedy was shot.
