President Andrew Jackson official land grant signed, dated 10 February 1831. Countersigned by Elijah Haywood, Commissioner of the General Land Office. Here, Jackson awards a Seth Howard of Cooper County 62 acres in Franklin, Missouri, shortly after the Indian Removal Act of 1830 which included Missouri and ignited the Trail of Tears. With a large, 6.5'' long ''Andrew Jackson'' signature at bottom right. Original blindstamped seal is still intact, though peeling off. Vellum document measures 15.25'' x 9'' with toning, foxing and folds throughout. Very good condition.
