Rutherford B. Hayes handwritten letter on stationery bearing the name Spiegel Grove, Fremont, Ohio, Hayes' National Historic Landmark estate and his burial site. Dated 14 February 1883, Hayes writes his editor friend Edward Bok in New York, ''My Dear Sir: My absence from home has presented an earlier [?] with the request contained in your note of the 5th inst. Sincerely / RB Hayes'' 1pp. on card style stationery measures 4.75'' x 7.75'' and is in very good condition.
