Vellum document, dated 7 January 1828, grants Joseph Papin, assignee of William Rector ''...The North West quarter of Section Fourteen in township forty six North of range nine West containing One hundred and Sixty Acres of the lands directed to be sold at St. Louis, Missouri...'' Blind embossed paper seal of the Land Grant Office is fully intact at lower left. Countersigned by George Graham as commissioner of the General Land Office. Single page, partially printed document, numbered 997, measures 14'' x 9''. Folds, light soiling and dampstaining. Very good condition.
