Original hand-drawn sketch of Popeye by Elzie Segar, circa 1930's. Segar writes in a speech bubble above Popeye's head, ''Blow me down Grace Evelyn, him an' Norton Parker's out fishin' an' I don't suspose we kin find 'em -- But I'll take ya down an' buy ya a swell hot dorg.'' His companion, a young girl, replies, ''Blow me down too - that'll be lovely!'' In another speech bubble, she says ''Popeye, Let's go find Castor''. Signed at bottom right ''With best wishes to Grace Evelyn, Segar''. Sketch measures 6'' x 9'', matted and framed to an overall size of 12'' x 15''. Paper backing has been removed. Near fine condition.
