Charles Lindbergh signed ''The Spirit of St. Louis,'' Charles Scribner's Sons: New York: 1954. The extraordinary aviator inscribes the title page in black ink: ''To Walter Ponichtera / with best wishes from / Charles A. Lindbergh''. Lindbergh won the Pulitzer Prize for this account of his successful attempt of the New York - Paris flight that had claimed the lives of six pilots before him. Runs 562pp. Bound in blue cloth boards with silver lettering, book measures 5.75'' x 8.5''. Slightly cocked with bumping and minor fabric loss to board corners and spine edges. Light staining to tail edge. Very good. A beautiful signed book by the man who ushered in a new era of human innovation.
