James Stewart typed letter signed. He writes to the ''Gentlemen'' at Universal Pictures regarding his billing in ''The Glenn Miller Story,'' his first film outside the western genre. The letter, hand-dated 28 May in 1953 reads in part: ''Referring to my contract of employment with you relating to my services in your photoplay now entitled 'Moonlight Serenade' (also known as 'The Glenn Miller Story')...I hereby approve the name of June Allyson as a member of the cast whose name may be accorded co-starring credit with me...James Stewart''. 1pp. measures 8.5'' x 11''. Minor creasing, a few pencil notations, and tiny tears along top edge. Very good.
