William S. Hart signed photo with an autograph inscription: ''For J Edward Leithead / With best wishes of William S Hart''. The silent film star's specialty was westerns, appearing in ''Wild Bill Hickok'' and ''Gunfighter'' after a successful stage career. He starred in the first incarnation of ''Ben Hur'' as a film production, a silent short in 1907. Photo measures 7.25'' x 9.25''. Matte photo is slightly buckled with adhesive residue and a pencil notation to verso. In very good condition.
