Gary Cooper signs and dates a slip, in black ink: ''Gary Cooper / 1944''. At the height of his Hollywood career, Cooper had just completed filming ''For Whom The Bell Tolls,'' the screen adaptation of the famed novel by his friend Ernest Hemingway. Next he was set to begin shooting ''Along Came Jones.'' Accompanying the signed slip is a semi-matte photo of Cooper as a young man. Slip measures 4'' x 5.75''. Toning, else fine.
