Shield used onscreen in the Academy Award-winning 1995 epic film ''Braveheart.'' Mel Gibson directed and starred in the 13th century historical drama, which was loosely based on Scottish leader William Wallace as he leads the war for independence from King Edward I of England. The prop armor was carried by one of his Scottish rebel warriors. Painted wooden shield measures 2.5' in diameter. Straps designed for arm wear are fastened to verso. Near fine.
