Pearl Bailey signed photo postcard, postmarked 12 February 1969 during the height of her theatrical career. After making her debut in the successful Broadway show ''St. Louis Woman'' in 1946, Bailey went on to star in a variety of musicals, including the all-African-American cast version of ''Hello, Dolly!'' for which she won a Tony Award in 1968. Glossy photo postcard depicts the star posing with a smile in an elaborate gown and feathered hat. Bailey signs ''Love Pearl Bailey'' in black marker across lower portion of photo. Postcard measures 3.5'' x 5.5'' with one bent corner and staple to photo; very good overall.
