A gold plated bronze trophy on a restored ebonised plinth and background, with plaque above with date '1930' and plaque to the bottom engraved 'JOSE NASAZZI'. This trophy was presented to Jose Nasazzi by the Uruguayan football Association in 1950, it was presented to the surviving winning players from the 1930 and 1950 World Cup winning teams. Height of trophy approx. 21.5cm. Nasazzi is regarded by many as Uruguay's greatest ever football player. He was known as ''El Gran Mariscal'' (The Great Marshal) and had already won the gold medal at the 1924 and 1928 Olympic Games, as well as the South American Championship in 1923, 1924 and 1926, he became the first captain to lift the Jules Rimet Trophy in 1930.
