Upon ''Ford's Opera Houses'' stationery, letter datelined Baltimore, 19 October 1883 reads in part, ''...I rejoice greatly at the announcement of your presence in Baltimore at one last grand rally...We are in peril and want a rallying speech on the necessity of unity for the sake of the Union, give us a big talk...'' Single page measures 8'' x 10.5'' Light staining and pencil notations, else near fine.
