Attractive scallop-edged document signed by John Adams as President, dated 23 October 1800. This vellum ship's papers reads in part, ''Suffer the Ship called the Pyomingo of Baltimore John Brightman, master or commander...To pass with her Company, Passengers, Goods and Merchandise''. Countersigned by Secretary of State Timothy Pickering. With beautiful lighthouse vignette at top and fully intact wax-backed paper seal. Folds and circular punch hole through Adams' signature, otherwise near fine given age.
