James Watson and Francis Crick signed copy of ''The Double Helix'', Watson's autobiographical account of perhaps the greatest scientific discovery by mankind. New York: Mentor, 1969 paperback edition. Signed by both Watson and Crick in fine black felt-tip, Watson dates his signature 1 March 1995 and writes, ''for Sheryl Broome / from / James Watson'' and Crick adds the date of 7 March 1995 with his autograph, ''Francis Crick''. Book measures 4.125'' x 6.875'' and runs 143pp. Small closed tear and creasing to cover, previous owner's name on rear free endpaper and a few instances of underlining within. Very good condition. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Crick's assistant on The Salk Institute letterhead. Also accompanied by a COA from University Archives for both signatures.
