Lot of NASA items belonging to Robert M. Mercer, an early NASA manager who worked on the Mercury and Apollo space programs. Lot includes:
1) Typed index cards, resembling the astronauts' checklist cue cards, wire-bound at top. Consists of 20 cards, most double-sided with paper slips affixed. Cards detail hundreds of intricate steps the astronaut needs to perform on the mission, including balloon experiments during both the day and night, indicating the checklist might have been for Mercury-Atlas 9. Other steps include flare experiments, photos to be taken, yaw checks, observations, star counting, stowage check list, todo list upon reentry, and much more. Cards measure 4'' x 2.5''. Very good condition.
2) Apollo Mission 11 Photography Indexes from October 1969, comprising four pull-out lunar maps each measuring approximately 56'' long. Near fine condition.
3) Preliminary Science Reports for Apollo 11 and Apollo 16, published 1969 and 1972 respectively. Each measures approximately 8'' x 10.5''. Minor wear, overall very good condition.
