Hunter S. Thompson typed postcard, composed 14 December 1965 to Thompson's friend Paul Semonin, whose name and address he handwrites on verso. Thompson also handwrites corrections to his typed letter, emblazoned in red ink. Reads in part, ''...It was good to hear a human voice in all that calky noise. A bad show, Pierce's whole multi-racial linebacker squadron, and what the hell can a non-political man say under these circumstances? Kind of hang around in the corners and say Yes, it's Wonderful, the New Society. And hustle the colored wives out of a sense of duty, make em feel wanted. I think maybe Aspen and the Darwinian theory was right...But even that is rigged, eh? The real question is which rig comes closest to being just? Johnson is only a symptom, not a fact.'' Unsigned postcard measures 5.5'' x 3.25''. Light wear, in very good to near fine condition.
