Harry Houdini triple-signed first edition of ''Miracle Mongers and Their Methods'', one of Houdini's earliest books exposing magicians and spiritualists. New York: E.P. Dutton & Company, 1920. Houdini signs both the dedication page, ''Houdini'' and the front free endpaper, with Houdini's personal idiom reading, ''To my friend / Birren / Best wishes from the author / Houdini / 'My brain is the key that sets me free' / Houdini / May 15/23''.

Signed in blue fountain pen by the famous magician. The recipient, Faber Birren, would later become a renowned color theorist but at this time worked at a bookstore which sold Houdini's books. The two became friends with Houdini even asking Birren to investigate self-proclaimed psychics and spiritualists, giving Houdini his opinion as to their veracity. Book measures 5.5'' x 8.25'', bound in original publisher's boards. Light wear, toning and faint haloing to writing on endpaper, overall very good condition. Consigned by the family of Faber Birren.
