Harper Lee autograph letter signed, dated 30 August 1991, to her friend Doris Leapard. In this lengthy letter, Lee sarcastically tells about the ''latest scandal'' involving the Metropolitan Museum. It claims to have a budget crisis and ''...will soon be keeping half the museum closed every day...This is the end of civilization as we know it''. Lee signs her first name, ''Nelle''. She adds a second page addendum about the mysterious Ukranian occupants of the Stuyvesant mansion. 8.5'' x 11'' letter is in fine condition. Accompanying envelope is very good.
