Handwritten note by Richard Nixon in August 1966 as a Presidential hopeful outlining his campaign themes. As Nixon prepares for the 1968 Presidential election, he writes, ''We say: A new way to progress: As party people we're concerned about family budget - taxes - prices - etc - This adm [Johnson administration] to blame / the people are hurt...'' He continues, ''...As party of people we say progress through people...'' Single-page document on a ruled sheet measures 8.5'' x 13.25''. Two staple punctures to top left. Near fine. From a larger collection of Nixon's handwritten notes from 1966.
