Ten envelopes signed by General George Custer, as addressed to his wife ''Mrs Genl Custer''. The legendary General writes to his wife in five separate locations: Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; Monroe, Michigan; Louisville, Kentucky; Fort Riley, Kansas; and Washington, DC. Two of the envelopes bear a return address stamp from the Fifth Avenue hotel in New York City. One end of each envelope is torn, and the postmark slightly touches the signature in most cases. Largest measures 5.25'' x 3'' and smallest measures 4.75'' x 3''. Very good condition.
