Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel document signed as rector of the Nuremberg Gymnasium. Dated 2 September 1814, Hegel issues a certificate of learning to one of his students, Johann Christoph Sigmund Lechner. During this time at the Gymnasium, Hegel had published the first two volumes of ''Science of Logic'' and was likely working on the third volume, published in 1816. Attractive document is signed ''Hegel'' next to an embossed paper seal. Measures 8.5'' x 14''. Scattered foxing and folds, overall very good to near fine condition with a bold signature.
