Frederick Burr Opper hand-drawn illustration of America's favorite tramp, ''Happy Hooligan''. Happy Hooligan ran from 1900-1932, loved by all as a good-natured simpleton with a gentle demeanor. On Happy's 30th birthday, Opper threw a party attended by President Herbert Hoover and former President Calvin Coolidge. Artwork is signed and dated, ''Frederick Burr / June 4 1932''. Paper measures 9.5'' x 6''. Three hole punches at top, light toning and creasing, and a faint vertical fold. Overall in very good plus condition.
