Copy of the complaint Browder v. Gayle, signed by Fred D. Gray, who successfully argued the bus desegregation case before the U.S. Supreme Court in 1956, the result of the Montgomery Bus Boycott that launched the Civil Rights movement. Upon the completion of this landmark case, which ruled that segregation violated the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment, Gray successfully argued cases that prevented the disenfranchisement of African-American voters, and that protected Civil Rights protesters and organizers. Seven page document on legal sized paper measures 8.5'' x 14'', signed on the last page by Gray in black ballpoint. Near fine condition.
