Influential Elizabeth Hamilton, widow of founding father Alexander Hamilton and daughter of revolutionary General Philip Schuyler, signs a short letter to President Zachary Taylor, dated 10 April 1849. She signs, ''E. Sch Hamilton'' on a note penned in another hand. Addressed to ''The President of the United States'', the note requests ''...an audience of a few minutes to my sister Mrs Cochran...'' Card style note measures 5.5'' x 3.5'' with minor chipping and small burn mark on the verso. Small smudge on signature, else very good.
