Edgar Rice Burroughs signed first edition, first printing of ''Tarzan and the Lion Man'', his popular novel in the ''Tarzan'' series. Tarzana, California: Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc., 1934 without subsequent printings on the copyright pages. Burroughs warmly inscribes this presentation copy on the front free endpaper, ''To William Fitzpatrick in appreciation for his friendship and co-operation / Edgar Rice Burroughs / Tarzana / January 23 1935''. Bound in publisher's grey and red boards, top edge red, with frontispiece and four plates by illustrator John Allen St. John. Novel measures 5.25'' x 7.625'' and runs 318 pages. Housed in original first printing dust jacket showing $2.00 price. Jacket is beautifully preserved, in near fine condition. Faint shelf wear and toning to endpapers, book is also near fine.
