Beautiful service plate from the Dwight Eisenhower administration, specifically used for state dinners. China plate was ordered in 1955 and features a gold coin raised medallion border in a mid-century design. At center is the Great Seal of the United States, surrounded by 50 gilt stars. Service plate is stunning for presentation, measuring 11.5'' in diameter. Upon the underside the manufacturer's mark, ''CASTELTON STUDIOS'' with ''THE WHITE HOUSE / NOVEMBER 1955'' in gilt. In exquisite, near fine condition.
