Dwight Eisenhower signs ''DE'' as President to a letter typed on his personal gilt-monogrammed White House stationery dated 16 January 1957. Eisenhower responds to a letter from his brother Edgar, a copy of which is included. The President writes, ''...I had hoped that you and [wife] Lucy would be in Washington... but in view of your health I am glad you decided against the trip. A note from Lucy tells me that you have shown steady improvement...I pray that your progress continues uninterruptedly...'' Measures 7'' x 10.5''. Punch holes, else fine.
