Dwight D. Eisenhower typed letter signed as President, dated 17 September 1953 on White House stationery. Here, Eisenhower writes to his brother Edgar expressing his discontent with an upcoming political function: ''...The meeting in Pennsylvania...where Fred Waring is to be presiding, will be both large and political. I am told that there are to be some thousands there. I am sure you understand how little such a thing interests me...'' Signed ''D.E.'' Letter measures 6.75'' x 9'' with two holes punched at top. Near fine.
