American Red Cross poster from 1949 featuring an illustration by famous artist Jes Schlaikjer. The nighttime scene portrays a man in a hat and trench coat communicating an urgent message to the Red Cross nurse driving the charity's ''Mobile Disaster Unit''. The lantern he holds illuminates the classic red icon printed on the door of the vehicle. Schlaiker dates his painting to 1948. Poster on heavy paperboard measures 15'' x 19.5''. Near fine.
