Disney animation cel from the beloved classic ''Dumbo''. Hand-painted cel depicts Mrs. Jumbo embracing her big-eared baby Dumbo. Mrs. Jumbo wears a flat pink hat and Dumbo wears a pair of aviator goggles on a yellow band, pushed up around his forehead for wear in flight. Cel is matted against a plain, pale blue background that bears a stamp, ''WDP'' to the lower right. With Albert Roullier Art Gallery, Chicago label affixed to verso above another label, printed, ''This is an original painting on celluloid, actually used in the Walt Disney production of 'Dumbo, the Circus Elephant'''. It is one of a select few that have been released to art collectors. The remainder have been destroyed. Of this series only [handwritten] 21 available...'' Label goes on to explain the process of animation, which involves producing individual cels for every character movement or change of expression. Cel measures 6'' x 4'', matted and framed to an overall size of 11'' x 13''. Light buckling, chipping to paint on the pink hat and some minor cracking to Dumbo's goggles, else near fine.
