Dick Scobee's personally owned model for the Lockheed C-5 Galaxy, used by Military Airlift Command from 1970-1992. As an Air Force test pilot during the 1970s, Scobee flew the C-5 Galaxy, one of the largest military aircraft in the world. He would later pilot the Challenger Space Shuttle for the STS-41-C mission in 1984, and then command Challenger mission STS-51-L which perished on 28 January 1986. Model measures approximately 19'' long x 17.75'' wide x 8.75'' tall. One set of wheels detached but present, and model is a little wobbly on its base. Overall very good condition. With an LOA from Scobee's brother.
