Prisoner letter from the Dachau concentration camp during WWII, dated 24 October 1943. Two page letter is from a Johan Hersko, born on 2 October 1915 with prisoner number 13783, ''Block 16/2''. Untranslated letter is written in German on official Dachau stationery, which lists rules of the camp, including the number of letters and lines per page allowed, and states ''Petition for release to the guards is useless'' and ''Visitation and telephone rights are not allowed.'' Both sheets of card-style stationery bear the official stamped Dachau postmark, with addressee portion bearing an Adolf Hitler stamp. Letter measures 6'' x 8.75'' closed. Portions of the address are blacked out; overall in very good condition with splits along folds and chipping, but fully intact and legible.
