NASA medallion made of metal taken from the Columbia space shuttle to commemorate the STS-1 mission, the first manned orbital flight of the space shuttle. Affixed to an official NASA ''First Shuttle Achievement Award'', medallion measures 1.5'' in diameter and depicts the shuttle with ''Columbia'', ''April 1981'' and signatures of pilot Crippen and commander Young embossed on the coin. Nicely framed to an overall size of 11.25'' x 14.25''. Minor toning to award; coin in near mint condition. Near fine.
