Black, a law professor and colleague of Darrow's: ''My Dear Mr. Black / I have just returned from about four months from Chicago. Have been in the south & New York. I find the MSS [manuscripts] of the way to get rid of Volsteadism. It is exceedingly well done and I am sure it can not be answered. Have you any plans about publishing it? I am anxious to see it put out and discussed. Sooner or later they must come to it. Also have received to St. Johns Law Review and will read your advice. Will be glad to hear from you.''
