Carl Jung autograph letter signed, composed on his personal stationery on 10 August 1946. Penned to his mentee, Dr. Rivkah Scharf, Jung discusses a variety of subjects, including his lectures for an Eranos conference, perhaps subtly criticizing previous years' lecturers. Translated from the original German, letter reads in full, ''Dear Doctor! I am sorry that I have not had a chance to thank you for your meaningful and beautiful birthday present before now. I was very happy to receive it, and I will be even happier when I finally have the time to read it. Lately, I have been very busy with my lectures for Eranos. They turned out much more ambitious than I had anticipated, and much longer as well. This year, the crowd will not get to hear any 'childish' fairy tales. Everything is theoretical and abstract.
