Bruce McCandleless II signed NASA photo, taken shortly after he was chosen as one of the astronauts in Group 5 in 1966. Eighteen years later McCandless would perform the first untethered spacewalk on STS-41-B, Space Shuttle Challenger. Inscribed in ballpoint, ''With Best wishes to Debbie / Bruce McCandless II / 11/6/69''. Photo was acquired by Sharon Caffee Todd, the Apollo astronauts' personal secretary, and inscribed to Todd's step-daughter Debbie. Semi-matte photo measures 8'' x 10''. Near fine condition.
