1969 Isle of Wight Festival handbill, prominently featuring Bob Dylan. Dylan had eschewed the Woodstock Festival earlier in the summer of 1969, and hadn't performed at a large event since his near-fatal motorcycle accident in 1966. Dubbed ''the gig of the decade'', his performance at the 30-31 August 1969 event was attended by 150,000 people including John Lennon, George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, Ringo Starr, Elton John and a host of celebrities such as Jane Fonda. George Harrison was so inspired by Dylan's performance that he wrote ''Behind That Locked Door'' the same month, dedicating it to Dylan's comeback. Handbill measures 5.5'' x 10''. Light creasing and pinholes at corners, otherwise near fine.
