Benito Mussolini autograph letter signed, dated 16 February 1928 when Mussolini served as Italian Prime Minister and also Duce of Fascism. Shortly after this letter, Mussolini enacted his ''Gold for the Fatherland'' program, encouraging citizens to donate their gold to the Italian government, which this letter also concerns. Upon ''Il Capo del Governo'' stationery, Mussolini writes to his Finance Minister Giuseppe Volpi, ''Dear Count Volpi, On pages 20 and 128 of the enclosed volume you will find the conditions that the cashiers require in order not to exchange a banknote for gold. / Mussolini / Rome 16 February 1928 - Year VI''. Single page letter measures 8'' x 10.75''. Light toning and discoloration, and small punch hole; overall very good plus condition. Accompanied by translation.
