U.K. Prime Minister Robert Jenkinson, 2nd Earl of Liverpool signs part of an envelope dated 24 July 1822. The Earl writes in pencil, ''Liverpool'' at the bottom left of the page. He also dates the page and writes, ''Mr John Newman / Mrs Holts / Eton College''. Jenkinson held the Priminsterial office for over 14 years, the longest since the Union with Ireland in 1801. Envelope measures 6.25'' x 3'' and displays some red ink smudging from post stamping and reside from mounting on the verso. Overall very good condition.
