Adolf Hitler signed first edition of ''Mein Kampf'', a true first edition set issued in two volumes. Munich: Franz Eher Nachfolger, 1925-1927. Hitler inscribes the front free endpaper of Volume II with a chilling inscription, translated from German: ''No rights exist without the protection of power! / Adolf Hitler / Munich 3 Feb. 1930''. Dedicated at top right in Hitler's hand to a Fr. Doris Buchner.
First editions of ''Mein Kampf'' are rare, as the interest in Hitler's memoir was low when first published in 1925-27; it wouldn't be until 1933 when sales soared after Hitler's appointment to Chancellor of Germany. Each volume measures 6.25'' x 9.25'', with Volume I bound in publisher's original red and white cloth boards. Volume II is also bound in publisher's original cloth, a full red. The two volumes were bound in different colors due to the time lag of publication. Light spotting to boards of Volume I and very minor separation starting on front hinge. Some rubbing to spine of Volume II with cloth frayed at bottom edge. Very minor separation starting to front hinge, more so to rear hinge. A few short tears to interior pages. Overall in very good plus condition, housed in custom clamshell case.
