Abraham Lincoln document signed as President, appointing Edward L. Kingsbury as U.S. Consul to Algiers on 19 February 1863. Attractive diplomatic document with wax-based paper seal features a very bold and prominent signature by Lincoln, signed in full ''Abraham Lincoln'', and countersigned by William Seward as Secretary of State. Document measures 22.5'' x 18'', with edges folded so that document displays to a size of 18'' x 13.5''. Folds, light creasing, light uniform toning and some scattered foxing. Overall very good condition with an outstanding signature by Lincoln. Consigned directly from descendant of Edward Kingsbury, and with his LOA.
