Abraham Lincoln military commission signed as President during the Civil War, appointing Samuel C. Green to First Lieutenant in the 15th U.S. Infantry on 19 August 1861. Lincoln elegantly signs with his full signature ''Abraham Lincoln'' at lower right, countersigned by Secretary of War Simon Cameron. Vellum document measures 13.5'' x 17.5'' as visible in frame, with intact turquoise paper seal and military vignettes. Framed to 22.5'' x 28.5''. Folds and light uniform toning, but overall in very good plus condition, better preserved than usually seen. With PSA/DNA COA.
