Program from the 20th Academy Awards ceremony, held 20 March 1948 at the Shrine Civic Auditorium in Los Angeles. A note within the program mentions the radio broadcast of the event would be heard by tens of millions of listeners. Five years later the Oscars would be televised. Outstanding winners in 1948 included ''Gentleman's Agreement'', ''Miracle on 34th Street'' and Best Actress Loretta Young. Nominees include Joan Crawford, Rosalind Russell, Gregory Peck and Michael Redgrave. Program runs 8pp. Measures 9.5'' x 12''. Separation to covers from the base of the spine up 5''. Pages are detached from covers. Scattered tears and small chips to cover edges and some soiling to pages. In good condition overall.
