Raiders 1977, 1981 and 1984 Super Bowl XI, XV and XVIII Championship Rings -- Owned by Punter Ray Guy

Beautiful Raiders 1977, 1981 and 1984 Super Bowl XI, XV and XVIII Championship Rings -- Owned by Punter Ray Guy

Three stunning Raiders championship rings owned by Raiders punter Ray Guy. The first is from the Raiders' 1977 Super Bowl XI win over the Minnesota Vikings. The 1977 Super Bowl was the first championship for the Raiders, who defeated the Vikings 32-14. The gold ring, size 13.25, reads "Oakland Raiders World Champions" on the face and features twenty-eight sparkling diamonds, most set into a football pattern. "14K" engraved upon the inside of the band. Minor damage to one of the diamonds, otherwise fine condition. Guy, the seven time Pro Bowl punter, received the 1981 Super Bowl XV ring when the Raiders beat the Philadelphia Eagles 27-10. It marked the first time a wild-card playoff team won the championship game. The gold ring, size 12.5, reads "Oakland Raiders" on the face and features thirty-five sparkling diamonds, most set into a football pattern (one of the large two center stones replaced with a CZ). Stamping present inside the band, but too worn to read. Fine condition. The Super Bowl XVIII ring represents the Raiders' 1984 record-setting 38-9 win over the Washington Redskins, 29 points being the largest margin of victory at that time. Guy made an important 27 yard punt during this Super Bowl. The gold ring, size 13, reads "Los Angeles Raiders World Champions" on the face and features twenty-three sparkling diamonds, most set into a pattern of three footballs (one of the smaller stones on the face replaced with a CZ). "14K" stamped inside the ring's band. Fine condition. All rings are accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Ray Guy.

Super Bowl Trophies from Super Bowl XXVII, XXVIII and XXX, Won by the Dallas Cowboys in 1993, 1994 and 1996

Set of three Vince Lombardi Super Bowl Trophies from Super Bowl XXVII, XXVIII and XXX, Won by the Dallas Cowboys in 1993, 1994 and 1996

Stunning, impressive set of three Vince Lombardi Super Bowl trophies from Super Bowl XXVII, XXVIII and XXX, won by the Dallas Cowboys in 1993, 1994 and 1996. Trophies belonged to Godfrey Myles, Cowboys linebacker, who provides a Letter of Authenticity for each one. An almost exact replica of the Vince Lombardi trophy manufactured by Tiffany's and presented to the winning Super Bowl team, these silver-plated trophies are ordered by the Super Bowl winning team's owner, if he chooses, for his players. Since only a few owners have purchased them, beginning with Al Davis of the Oakland Raiders in 1977, they remain notoriously scarce and desirable, with only a handful coming to auction in the past 30 years. Each of Myles' trophies presented here measures approximately 15.5" high and 7" deep. Upon the front of Super Bowl XXVII is engraved, "Vince Lombardi Trophy / Super Bowl / XXVII / Champions / The Dallas Cowboys" and upon the side of the triangular column, "Godfrey Myles / 98". The other two have the same engraving, only differing in the year. The trophies weigh different amounts, 7.6 lbs., 10.8 lbs. and 6.0 lbs. for XXVII, XXVIII and XXX, respectively. Each is in good condition with isolated chipping to the silver; Super Bowl XXX has almost no chipping with XXVIII having the most, especially on the football that sits atop the triangular column. A really stunning display of athletic achievement, from the team that sets the record for most Super Bowl appearances.

Campisteguy / 1930 S.A.B.U / Broncerias Unidas S.A''. Measures 11.5'' x 7''. Very good condition. From the family of Dr. Juan Campisteguy.

Scarce Tom Sturdivant 1956 Yankees World Series Championship ring, with a letter of authenticity from Mrs. Elaine Sturdivant. Ring commemorates the Yankees' prowess on the field that year, including Sturdivant's complete game that he pitched to defeat the Brooklyn Dodgers 6-2 in Game 4 of the 1956 World Series. Ring features an approximately 3/4 ct. diamond in the center and the Yankees emblem on each of its sides, with "1956" cut into the gold. How to Appraise or Value Movie Memorabilia and Sports Memorabilia
by Nate D. Sanders [email protected]

Movie memorabilia is a collectible genre that has grown in popularity in the last decade. During this period, I estimate sales of movie memorabilia to be around $50 million per year. Sports memorabilia has been popular for three decades now and probably realizes at least $100 million per year. The most popular subsets of these memorabilia genres are awards and costumes/ uniforms. For sports memorabilia, game or fight used memorabilia is also popular such as baseball bats, baseballs and boxing gloves.

Some of the most expensive prices realized have come for Marilyn Monroe screen worn clothing, Babe Ruth uniforms, Muhammad Ali fight used pieces, items used in "Star Wars", championship rings, Golden Globe Awards aka Golden Globes, Tony Awards and Academy Awards aka Oscars.

Before appraising your movie memorabilia and sports memorabilia, please find out if It is authentic. Movie memorabilia and sports memorabilia fakes are a dime a dozen, especially on the Internet and especially on Ebay. To make sure that the memorabilia you are looking to appraise, buy or sell is the real deal, first subject it and yourself to the provenance test which simply means finding the origins of the item. Obviously, the best authenticity is to have gotten the item yourself from the celebrity or you are the celebrity! Second to that, look for the item to have an invoice from a reputable auction house or a certificate of authenticity from a movie studio or the actor in the case of movie memorabilia and from the player or team for sports memorabilia. If those options aren't in the cards, you will need to do your research. Find photo matches and research the history of the item but beyond that, make sure you find those familiar with the original identify materials used (or read about their comments regarding this) and that yours have those exact materials. Fakers usually use the wrong materials, especially contemporary ones for vintage items. An interesting story to note is that there was a music award being shopped around worth around $50,000 if real but the award was for a song the recipient did not win. Buyer beware. Fake movie memorabilia and sports memorabilia is not hard to manufacture and dubious sellers outnumber reputable ones. For your item, chances are, determination if it is real or fake won't be so easy and will probably end up with you having to do it yourself or hiring someone to do lots of research. But, caution on the latter point, sometimes experts can charge you as much as $3,000 for their research time. An auction house such as ours might do it for free. Please email [email protected].

There are more warnings when it comes to appraising movie memorabilia and sports memorabilia. The most common error is to compare your item to a price you find at a fixed price. Those prices are just wishes. Most of them wishes that will never come true. The only way to get a true valuation is to find the price of a similar item has sold for at auction or to contact the auctioneer. Since auction houses are busy, the best way to approach them is to send an email. A good database tool to use for prices realized is our prices realized page. If your item is not present in that database, just email [email protected] for a free appraisal.

In sum, know the origins of your movie memorabilia or sports memorabilia and more importantly, trust only the established auctioneers with stellar reputations. A lot of the others might burn you.
