Rare Tejano Music Award bestowed upon singing legend Selena in 1994 for Album of the Year. Her album, ''Selena Live!'' took home the coveted award that year in an ongoing sweep of the awards ceremony, particularly for Best Female Vocalist that lasted for twelve years. ''Selena Live!'' was recorded at a free concert at the Memorial Coliseum in Corpus Christi, Texas on 7 February 1993 and featured a wide variety of her hits over the past two decades. Sadly, just a year after receiving this award, the Latin icon would die at the young age of 23 in a vicious murder by the former president of her fan club. Award features a lucite star perched atop a wooden pyramid-shaped base with plaque engraved: ''14th Annual Tejano Music Awards / Selena Live / Album of the Year (Orchestra/Group) / Selena Quintanilla / March 13, 1994 / San Antonio, Texas / Texas Talent Musicians Association''. Award measures 8.5'' x 8.5'' x 5'' deep. Minor scratches to lucite star and dings to wood along base, else very good to near fine. Original award maker sticker affixed to bottom.
